Here's the place to discuss the development of Temenos.
This place has changed a lot. I think, from what ancient shards and faded texts I can recover, this was once meant to be an analogy for the Pagan Norse. However, since then, I've more or less high-jacked it, changed the name and turned it into a safe haven for the Old Greek philosophies. They hold by the old Greek belief that humanity is gradually declining from a "Golden Age" and cling to the past as closely as possible. This has kept them nostalgic and stuck in reliving the glory days of the old Empire while the rest of the world slowly moved past it. It basically filled the same niche as the republic, minus some dystopian elements. It is quite possible that there will soon be a canonical link between the two.
Why would they be particularly north though? If they're traditionalists, wouldn't they be more in Ethos than Logos?
They would but Hikmah is there.
It might be doable as a lost island as opposed to a large mountainous region, but this was me working with what was already there. [Originally it was suppose to be Norse based or something. There was much information on it in character or out, and the Ancient Greeks needed a home so I threw them there]
I have absolutely no objections to making Logos the farthest northern point on the continent. Anyone who does?
So, new concept:
Logos is the Northern most point in the continent[s] that we've laid out.
Lab 19 is on the border of the Domains of Discourse and is what is preventing further influence/expansion.
Temenos [Greece] is an archipelago between Ethos/Hikmah [Europe and Middle East/Africa] and Saraswati [India]
The Norse Pagans can be scratched, since well, they didn't really fit in anyway and I was shoehorning them for the sake of tradition.
Following this idea; Might I suggest that we merge it with Atlantis? I mean it's sort of a perfect fit. Just emphasize the difficulty of making the leap of faith, make it a great deal more independent [Since it's now the last vestige of the Sophian Empire] and now Atlantis actually has a culture and purpose for existing! Yay!
