This thread should levitate somewhere between worldbuilding and mechanics
Well, i've been trying to do some fun things with DnDis in my local area. I'm bringing the game to a group of people that have not only ever
heard of DnDis, but some of them have no concept of RPGs at all. It's going to be a bit of a challenge, so i'm preparing for things possibly dying in a fire after the first session. With this in mind i have started writing up an adventure that should play out over 1 or 2 sessions. I call it Akrasia. It, probably, will be very variable, but i hope to get an approximate time on it, flesh out all the details and/or mark places that should be left to the DMs imagination and such. If it all goes well, i'll post it here in full. Maybe we'll even have some content for a future DM Tools tab.
Outline: Some philosophers are travelling aboard a strawman strawship (named "Blue is the best color", maybe), which runs ashore on a small island. The island is actually a daydream by somebody sleeping on the job. The philosophers will have to form a faculty to try and get the ship off the island. I plan them to encounter Lesser Dire Postmodernists (also known as hipsters), a troll or two and a Benign Solipsist to finish it off. Once they defeat the solipsist, the island will disappear, leaving the faculty swimming (or water walking) back to the ship.
