Right now all classes come with built in stats. While I like the idea of Classes focusing on one or two of stats rather than all three, it's fun to see it subverted here and there, but playing a Charismatic Utilitarian or Credible Apologist. While some of their abilities are weakened, at later levels this can pay off with unique combinations and skills. However, the preset stats mean that they have to waste at least one point [out of a possible 18] on a stat they don't want and that early on it is even harder to recover.
This could be easily remedied by removing the preset stats and allowing them 7 points with a cap of 3 to any one stat in the first level. It really doesn't change too much but it does allow for a bit more of a feeling of freedom, albeit limited, to the players than one where half their creating stats are already predetermined on the player character.
It's not a lot of freedom, granted, but still it allows for a few wierder combinations.
Regardless, I'll take your verdicts on it.
