I'm glad to finally be able to tell you that I've play tested the system and the Akrasia module for my friends and the responses are great. They really loved the system and the combat by debate idea really grabbed them.
I had three players; an apologist (Scottish National), an existentialist (An Adventuring Professor) and a positivist (Christopher Hitchens). Each of them fulfilled their roles as their abilities dictated and man did they soar. I elaborated on Darpaios quite a bit and used the Barista information I wrote up to flesh out the Barista of the Lurk, who I named Vente. In fact, once one of my players returns from Connecticut, I'll be running a bi/weekly game that may entail the characters trying to get Darpaios out of his eternal punishment through various adventures.
They loved all the characters and utterly hated the Hipsters. The troll was a fun several rounds as I got to berate them and watch as they each wanted to attack the troll but knew better. Finally, the Solipsist. I never knew how much my friends do not like Solipsists. I had read up on Solipsism and I think I made some compelling arguments as I had the creature attack them but I did find several problems that are inherent in the system that need to be looked at and tweaked or just actually written out.
None of us are Philosophy majors - I'm an English Major (Professional Writer [tech writing]), a Psych Major, an IR Major and a guy who has traveled to 84% of Europe. What we are though is avid RPG players and men who like our rules concise and codified. I'll be posting my findings for each problem in the respective thread so as not to bog this one down. My players and I brainstormed the problems we saw and tossed around a few ideas that I think the community might like or at least point everyone in a more codified direction.
